Tasting notes by Michael:
- Colour: Citrus Gold
- Nose: Full of heather and honey, slight ozone definite green leaves.
- Taste: The heather and honey is strong on the palate, diluted the slight Orkney peat comes through more like sea shells than kippers, then more malt as in green tomatoes and a hint of light toffee and that slight peat reek comes back at the end with spice.
- Finish: Medium to long, seems to coat the palate with its oils rather than the back of the throat.
- Summary: A challenging dram, very good oil, not over complex, simple pleasures with great integration of flavours, typical of Highland Park at this age and a cracking dram. Only 100 bottles from this split cask.
