This expression, distilled at the Glen Elgin distillery in 2007 has been aged for Fifteen years before being finished in a ex Sauternes Hogshead cask and then bottled by Alistair Walker, at the cask's natrual strength of 55.4%

The nose is sweet, caramely and nutty, with notes of peanut brittle and brandy snaps

On the Palate, ther is Glen Elgin's characteristic honeyed sweetness, compimented with rich orchard and stewed fruit notes, brought in from the cask influence.

The finish is long drying and gently spicy, with both savory notes of black pepper and sweet notes of cinnamon and nutmeg.

Created from a batch of just 5 refill ex-sherry butts, this Glen Elgin shows a delicate pear juice and appletiser flavour, with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg. Crisp pink lady apples build with a background of milk chocolate, with lashings of pear Eau de Vie drizzled over flaky pastry, and a light lemon-oil citric flavour to finish.

This special release comes to us from the famous Glen Elgin distillery, known as the 'distiller's dram' for it's popularity amongst the professionals. It is a fascinating dram, bottled from a vatting of two parcels of stock each fermented with a distinct strain of yeast. Each batch has also been matured in distinct casks, Ex-Bodega casks in one case, and refill European oak butts in the other. Only 5352 bottles were produced in total. Expect to see Glen Elgin's signature complex herbal and spicy notes front and centre.

Nose: Black Forest gateau, cherry cake, boozy cake, maple syrup candy, tablet, molasses, black currant, candied pecan, chocolate mint, bitter dark chocolate brownie batter, Matchmakers mints, cooling eucalyptus, aloe vera, tiger balm, blackcurrant travel sweets.  

Palate: blackcurrants, fizzy cola bottles, macchiato, chocolate cake, candied ginger,   Curly Wurly, chocolate dusting, milk chocolate, Tizer, Irn Bru, apricot, tiramisu, orange blossom, plum. 

Finish: Dry, tangy, spicy, medium length, vibrant finish.
