Glenglassaugh are situated on the north eastern coast of Scotland in the village of Portsoy. Closed in 1986 the Glenglassaugh distillery was thought to be lost forever untill it was brought back to life in 2008. This 26 year old Glenglassaugh has all of the hallmarks of the great distillery - highland toffee, jersey caramels and fudge, hints of dried fruits from sherry casks and a really interesting twang of saline saltyness. A very elegant and refined highlander that has been beautifully bottled in a teardrop style decanter with a hefty metallic cork and stopper.
