Bruichladdich

Bearing the name of Lochindaal, the name of Bruichladdich's heavily peated spirit, this single cask bottling from BBR is a rare independently bottled expression of this Islay distillery. The peat smoke is thick and damp, with camphor, cloves and fireworks all coming to mind. Waves of fruit, spice and peat smoke all fight for prominence, with bonfire ash and gingerbread popping out. In the words of BBR's Doug McIvor "As subtle as a sledgehammer and yet as complex as Chaucer".

Distilled in 2014 and bottled after 8 years maturing in a 2nd fill Allier French Oak casks, this new Bruichladdich was exclusively bottled for the New Zealand market. This is a classic example of the make, made from unpeated barley, often sweet with vanillas and buttery tones.

Distilled from 100% Scottish Mainland Barley, this release of Octomore has been peated to the level of 137.3PPM. The nose is nutty and salty, with leathery tobacco notes. This develops into notes of gentle cooking spices, walnut and praline, sugar and raisins. The finish has a salty tang with smoke.

Port Charlotte is the name given to heavily peated whisky from Bruichaddich distillery and this particular expression is the second batch of 10 year old they have released to date. First-fill bourbon, sherry, tempranillo and French wine casks were all utilised in maturing this exciting new release from hebridean distillers. Like its 10 year old unpeated brother, the cask influence has developed a deep hue and there is also hints of tropical fruit on the palate, this time though, intrigrating with the peat smoke character to form a full bodied and rich dram with a long peaty finish.

The Classic Laddie from Bruichladdich is made using unpeated barley, matured mostly in American Oak, ex-boubon barrels and french oak, bottled at 50%. A refreshing dram with a palate of green fruits, brown sugar and sweet oak along with those classic costal notes. Packaged in a very unusual aqua blue bottle to match a fresh and lively dram distilled by the sea.

This release from Octomore has been distilled from barley grown on Islay and has been peated to 129.3 parts per million. Gentle peat and floral notes are found on the nose, Which develops into sweet honey, malty biscuits, uplifting lemon and smoke. The smoke notes intensify on the finish bringing along marzipan and lemon.
