Glenglassaugh

This is the second outturn from the re-opened Glenglassaugh distillery. Aged in a combination of handpicked first fill American oak barrels which used to house Tennessee Whiskey. This expression has been bottled at 50% ABV and without chill filtration or colouring added.

The nose is incredibly inviting, with notes of sweet barley sugars, syrupy pineapple, and gentle wafts of warming spice.

On the palate, notes of peppery white oak and crisp green apples marry perfectly with a gentle hint of sea breeze to form a wonderfully balanced dram. The finish is long and spicy, with elements of sweet soft fruits and fragrant vanilla.

The first new production whisky to be released from the re-opened Glenglassaugh distillery, closed from 1986 until 2008. The revival has been welcomed with rave reviews worldwide for a distillery that has only been back in production for such a short period of time. Characterised by sweet caramel and toffee, a strong sour plum flavour and a hint of sherry. A fascinating insight into a distillery redefining itself, while still holding true to its original character.

Torfa is the all new peated expression from Portsoy's Glenglassaugh distillery. Sweet fragrant bonfire smoke swirls around delicate fruit sweetness and touches of sea salt, with marzipan (wedding cake icing) and tart redcurrants in the finish. An exceptionally good peaty whisky, it is well suited for those who enjoy malts from some of Scotland's smokier west coast distilleries.
