Craigellachie

This rich and nutty Craigellachie friom W.M Cadenheads has been aged for a total of fifteen years and was finished in 100% Port casks from 2021. While offering big bold flavours, the soft warming fruit notes and rich nuttiness will make sure it appeals to a wide audience.

The nose offers notes of praline and dark chocolate, alongside moffat toffee and orange liquer. While the palate offers sweet spiced notes of gingerbread, alongside stewed plums and cola flavoured sweets, with a long sweet and spiced finish of crystalised ginger, brazil nuts and black liquorice 

Craigellachie distillery, located just a stones throw from the famed Craigellachie Hotel is a traditional Speyside distillery, known for their continued use of Worm Tubs.

This expression, distilled in 2012, has been aged for ten years and finished in a Madeira Hogshead cask before being bottled at cask strength, in this case 61.1%

there is a rather unusual note of burnt rubber on the nose, followed by savory notes of Marmite as well as some earthy and vegetal notes.

the Palate is far sweeter, thanks to the Maderia cask influence. thick honey drizzled on brioche bread, spun sugar and chewy dark toffee, rounded off with a sweet, spicy finish.

A Speyside heavy weight, Craigellachie brings us a meaty character with plenty of grunt. Distilled in 1995, this Craigellachie from Douglas Laing was matured in a refill sherry butt for 25 years and bottled at a natural cask strength of 53.7%. Freshly warmed pecans covered in golden syrup open on the nose, followed by waxy lemons, green olives and home baking. The palate is heavy, a harmony of sweet and savoury. New leather with shavings of fresh oak, sticky toffee apples, berries, and engine oil. The finish is long and sweet, reminiscent of circus candyfloss and rich crème brulee. A fantastic addition to the 'Xtra Old Particular' range.
