Ardmore is a distillery, located in the eastern Highlands, that is known for producing a peated malt. This expression has the peaty characteristics but in a soft, delicate style. Behind the smoke there are aromas of tropical fruits, citrus and toasted malt. This all leads onto the palate with dark chocolate influences and a slightly peppery edge. It also has a sweet fudge like flavour with mixed spices, leading to a well rounded fruity and spicy finish. Bottled at cask strength, you will find that this dram really opens up with a little time and water.

Ardmore Distillery was built in 1898 by Adam Teacher to ensure a good supply of whisky for Teachers blended whisky. A surprisingly smoky highland malt, with chewy malt-chocolate elements, dark stewed fruits combined with a distinctive wood-smoke character.

Made with 80% peated and 20% unpeated malt, this is an example of the distinctive style of whisky made at the Ardmore distillery. Amongst the peatiest and smokiest whiskies made on the mainland, it carries aromas of creamy toasted oak, caramel and sooty peat smoke which carries onto the palate with malt-cereal flavours, vanilla and spice.
