Glenglassaugh 'Gordon & MacPhail' 1986 / 31 years old 52%
Product Description

Region: Highland

Strength: 52%

Volume: 700ml

1986 was a signifigant year for the Glenglassaugh distillery, as it marked the beginning of a silent period of over 20 years. This new release from Gordon & MacPhail was selected from a refill bourbon barrel, with a nose that is aromatic with gorse flower, lemon and lime, before becoming wonderfully scented with candied tropical fruit and grapefruit. These flavours carry on to the palate, joined by dark chocolate truffles, charred oak and a lifting tang of passionfruit and rose petal. Re-opened in 2008, we will have to wait until 2039 to see a whisky of this age from the 'new' era of the distillery.
