Clynelish 'Xtra Old Particular' 1996 / 25 years old 55.1%

This expression from the famed Clynelish distillery, was distilled in 1996, before being left to slumber for 25 years and bottled at cask strength (55.1%) from a single refill Butt. The nose is lovely and rather desserty, with notes of candied toffee apples adn sweet spicy sticky date pudding. The soft spicy character continues on the palate, joined by bursting flavours of chocolate and orange and sweet sticky honey. A long and lingering finish brings flavours of ripened fruits gentle pepper and Clynelish's famed and signature waxiness.
