Speyburn

A very easy drinking, quaffable Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the Speyburn distillery, situated right on the river Spey. An excellent value dram with flavours of creamy toffee, citrus (particularly oranges, marmalade), delicate floral notes and a drying finish with a wee whiff of smoke in the background. A lovely and easy-to-drink malt from the heart of whisky in Scotland.

Situated in a valley just north of the village of Rothes, the Speyburn distillery produces a whisky that unusually for the area, is made with a very light peating level. Ginger oak and apple peel aromas lead the nose, with buttery danish pastries, sultanas and fudge to taste. The finish offers a long and drying flavour with the meerest hint of smoke.

In a bonnie location surrounded by trees and situated right on the river Spey, the Speyburn distillery is a classic of the region. A clean, soft and smooth nose has delicate touches of fruit, toffee and a touch of citrus. The palate is again smooth, rounded and fruity with just a faint touch of smoke and citrus in the background. An especially good value dram that is well suited for almost all tastes.

Situated in a wooded glen beside the Granty burn in the heart of Speyside, the Speyburn distillery remains one of the best kept secrets in the region, quietly producing a soft, elegant and fruity style of single malt whisky. This new 15 year old release is a rare expression of older whisky from the distillery, matured in a combination of American and European oak casks, giving it a rich yet mellow flavour of caramelized oranges, vanilla, dark chocolate, citrus fruit (orange peel) and soft spices. A very pleasantly mild and soft dram.

This expression from Speyburn distillery is a rare treat, an example of the older stocks of whiskies bottled at Speyburn. Matured in a mixture of American and European oak casks, the dram has a balance of soft sherry wood influence, honey, fragrant orange, herbal and spice notes, with perhaps the faintest whiff of smoke on the finish. One of the Spey's best kept secrets.
