The world of whisky is complex and varied and one of the easiest way to get to know it is to come along to one of our regular whisky tastings. Our tastings vary from distillery focused evening, food pairings, vintage selections, world whiskies and many more. These are fun educational and social events where everyone is welcome. We conduct tastings the length and breath of the country on request, they are targeted at people who have a genuine interest in tasting - if your are organizing/hosting an event and would like to discuss your requirements please do get in touch with us.

Our tastings are incredibly popular so if you do see an event coming up that interest you, it does pay to book up early to avoid disappointment.

Whisky Galore's Stramash!

We held our first Stramash! a couple of years back, in the Winter of 2017, so we thought it was about time that we head back to the stunning setting of The Great Hall to give it another go. For those of you who are wondering what a Stramash is, it loosely translates from Scots to mean 'uproar' - a wonderful combination of Ceilidh dancing (Scottish Country Dancing), whisky, traditional music and most importantly, good company.

As our guest of honour, we are delighted to welcome back to New Zealand, The Hon. Alex Bruce (MQ), the face of Adelphi and The Ardnamurchan Distillery.  Alex is one of the worlds most respected whisky personalities, many of you have had the pleasure of meeting him during his previous visits to the country and no doubt sampled some of his whisky wares. He'll be showcasing some special drams from our latest Adelphi shipment throughout the evening. On top of that the hall will be filled with the sound of auld Scots dancing music from the band 'Hair of the Dog' who provided us with some heel kicking tunes last year (don't worry if you are not clued up about the dance moves, we have help on hand to guide you through the steps.) and a hearty dinner will be provided by The Bespoke Chef.

This is an opportunity for us all to get together in the depths of Winter to enjoy some drams, dancing and a wee bit o' banter. There will be tables of 8 situated throughout the hall, so if you have a few friends that would like to join you, please do let us know and we can seat you altogether. Adelphi Dinner at the Sherwood Queenstown

Prior to the Stramash, Alex Bruce will be taking a wee tour of the country, sharing some of the fine new Adelphi bottlings from our latest shipment with the folks in Queenstown. Renowned for using fresh, seasonable produce that has been harvested from their own kitchen gardens or local farms, the team at the Sherwood Queenstown have prepared a wonderfully Wintery 3 course menu for you to enjoy with these very special Adelphi. This very special whisky dinner includes a three course meal, 5 Adelphi whiskies and a complimentary glass of wine with the entree and main course.

Their 'philosophy is rooted in a genuine and life-long love of food, wine and good times around the table' - Sounds pretty good to us! Adelphi Dinner at Gladstone Winery

Prior to the Stramash, Alex will be taking a wee tour of the country, sharing some of the fine new Adelphi bottlings from our latest shipment with the folks in the Wairarapa. Nestled in the heart of this boutique little wine region, the good folk at Gladstone Vineyard have opened up their beautiful winery to us for a very special whisky dinner amongst the vines. Not only will we have some exceptional whiskies to try but also some delectable drops from the vineyards winemakers. This very special whisky dinner includes a three course meal, 5 Adelphi whiskies and a complimentary glass of wine with the entree and main course.
