An old Ben Nevis always tends to spark a bit of excitement among the team at Whisky Galore. Aged for 23 years in a single hogshead and yielding only 280 bottles this dram is initially sweet and syrupy on the nose, with notes of balsamic roasted root vegetables and pages of dusty old books. A full bodied dram which coats the palate with flavours of juicy mandarin sorbet and creamy white chocolate. Subtle notes of red lychee tea and strawberry are joined by fragrant patchouli. A sweet lingering finish of plum and blackberry jam and the slightest prickle of peppermint.
