Blair Athol 'North Star' 2006 / 14 years old 49%

North Star is giving us a very uncommon but fun finish for this whisky. Distilled in 2006 at the beautiful Blair Athol distillery, this single cask spent most of its time maturing in a refill hogshead before being finished in a mezcal cask. The nose is fresh and zesty with a lot of influence from the Mezcal cask, lime cocktail, brown sugar and pineapple juice. The palate continues with more citrus, cinnamon, fresh melon, toasted nuts, white pepper and a floral finish.
