Blair Athol distillery sits in the middle of the Cairngorms national park in the Highlands of Scotland, just outside the village of Pitlochry. This looks to be a beefy, hefty whisky - the colour shows an incredibly concentrated colour indicating a strong wood influence. Finished in a sherry cask for 29 months, you can expect a substantial dram, dense with dried fruit, oven roasted and carmelized fruits and a heavy, malty-nutty savoury spice.
