A dram imbued with the distinctive nuttiness that Blair Athol is known for. On the nose this 14 year old expression bottle by Single Malts of Scotland, aged in a single hogshead, is sweet and malty with aromas of brown soda bread spread with tart rhubarb jam. Herbaceous notes of thyme and saffron combine with milk chocolate digestives. The palate is somewhat effervescent with flavours of fruit salad chewy sweets and under-ripe strawberries. The nutty aromas translate into notes of apple and cinnamon oat bars. Botted at 54.6% the finish is nutty and lasting with hints of sweet red pepper.
