Product Description

Region: Islay

Strength: 54.7%

Volume: 700ml

From Bunnahabhain distillery, this 16 year old whisky has been maturing in two oloroso sherry butts. This is a brilliant example of the unpeated distillery style, distinctly chocolatey, spiced and nutty. Notes of caramel, walnuts and sultanas, like a rich fruitcake lead the aroma, with a thick and creamy texture on the palate. Milk chocolate sweetness lead the taste, joined by bitter orange marmalade and mixed spice linger, with lashings of red berries. A highlight from our last 'Islay Night' tasting, we have a small number of these bottles back in stock.

The nose is aromatic with a subtle glimmer of smoke and a faint hint of seashore that continues into ...

The nose on the Bunnahabhain 18 is truly incredible - huge notes of rich honey, nuts, old leather, dried fruits and a hint of sea-side smoke. A distinct umami (the Japanese word for 'savoury', think soy sauce and dried meat) character and a truly to-die-for rich dark chocolate flavour push this whisky in to a league far beyond what its age and p...
