This single malt Scotch whisky was distilled at Bunnahabhain Distillery, on the Isle of Islay, on the 3rd of April 1978. The new spirit was filled into an Oloroso Sherry Butt, cask number 2588, where it remained until its bottling in 2023.
A lovely, dark in amber in colour, the 45 years in the cask created a beautifully rich liquid with ripe raisins, sweet nougat and hints of an old cigar box. The mouthfeel is luscious and expansive with a long satisfying finish.
The colour of the whisky reflects only the natural impact from the cask during maturation.
