Burnside is the name given to a particular whisky made in a process refered to as 'teaspooning' two of Scotland's most famous distilleries together - a single cask that has had a small amount of its sister distillery added to it to prevent their single malt being sold by the cask under their name. Adelphi's tasting notes speak of a very classic style - nougat and burnt toffee/creme caramel, fruity apple notes and a clothy, 'tweedy' fabric scent. With water added, notes of polish and citrus are joined by sweet notes of banana, powdered white pepper, with banana again lingering in the finish. Excitingly, this is the first Burnside bottling we have seen from Adelphi - sourced from the Grants of Dufftown, owners of Balvenie and Glenfiddich distilleries. Please note: Due to the low number of bottles available for this discontinued whisky, it is limited to one per customer
