Produced at the long-lost Caledonian distillery, this new release offers a rare glimpse in to Edinburgh's distilling history, filled from a single cask that was laid down in 1980, just 8 years before its closure. Even though it was at one time Scotland's largest producer of grain whisky, we have had just a handful of bottles over the years in New Zealand. This example shows the sweet, fragrant and oaky qualities of the style - pineapple, baked apple and bees wax join soft black pepper and cocoa powder spice, with ginger and banana bread notes lingering. One of only 111 bottles world-wide.
