This single cask expression from Berry Brothers and Rudd showcases everything there is to love about Caol Ila, with the perfect balance between distillate and cask influence. Bottled from a single Oloroso Hogshead, this expression opens up on the nose very clean. There are notes honey, green herbs, wafts of gentle coastal smoke, and Caol Ila's signature banana note. Dry ashy smoke bursts out on the palate, joined with sweet honey and cooling menthol notes. Building up towards the finish, there are intense fruity and smoky notes that linger on and on.
