From Caol Ila distillery, this ‘Old Particular’ bottling was distilled in 2011 and matured for 10 years in a refill hogshead, this expression from the distillery shows off some big smoke and their natural oily spirit. The nose offers big waves of smoke and coal dust, followed by seaweed and smoky bacon crisps. The palate is mouthcoating, thick and oily, sweet barley, BBQ charred lemons with chimney smoke coming through. The finish is long with more of that BIG PEAT, lingering with treacle toffee sweetness.
