Originally matured in bourbon barrells and then finsihed in PX and oloroso casks, this whisky has been maturing for 12 years. The nose has notes of fruit, tinned pears, heather honey, gentle spice and a subtle herbal note. The palate is smooth with sweetness, balanced out by pepper and oak spice. Waxiness is also found which develops into a spicy heat. The finish is long, with chilli spices and lingering pepper. Adding water brings out the creamy and smooth mouth feel.
