It seems the Laing brothers specialize in bottling outstanding Craigallachie’s. Distilled in 2009, this single cask expression from Douglas Laing’s ‘Old Particular’ has been matured in a very active ex-bourbon hogshead for 12 years before being bottled at 48.4%. Rich and spicy nose, filled with sweet cereal and honeyed nuts, ending with some earthy undertones. The palate is sweet and creamy, full of dark macerated fruits, liquorice and oak based spices. Long and engaging finish, showing off toasted coconut and apple pastries.
