This distilleries beginnings began in the 1960’s, after being converted from an old, and very large cotton-mill. Today, Deanston stands as one of Scotland’s greenest distilleries, using their purpose build Hydro-power Plant to pull water from the River Teith. This single malt was distilled in 1996 and was matured for 25 years in a single refill hogshead. The nose offers buttery custard pastries, orange oil and rich caramel. The palate is herbal with more citrus emerging, hints of freshly brewed coffee and nutty marzipan. A wisp of smoke hits off a long and oily finish.
