One of the lowest located distilleries in the Highlands, found just above the Lowlands is where you’ll find Deanston distillery. This bottling from The Single Malts of Scotland was matured in a single ex-bourbon barrel for 12 years, with an outturn on 233 bottles. The nose has a wonderful fruitiness, grape juice and lychees, cream filled doughnuts topped with apple and raspberries, hot custard ending with a faint floral note. The palate brings back childhood memories of ice cream spiders, fresh apple slices, buttery pastries covered in cinnamon sugar, with even more cream filled doughnuts. Finishing with spicy crystalized ginger.
