The fifth edition of GlenAllachie's 21 year old single malt, this out-turn was bottled at the natural strength of the combined five sherry casks, at just 49.2%. Utilizing only the finest ex Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks, sourced directly from Spain, it promises rich, full bodied sherried tones. Aromas of Brandy soaked honeycomb waft out of the glass, joined with molasses tart, spiced blood orange and bursts of cocoa, followed by black winter truffle and caramelised brown sugar. Rich chocolate, warm baking spices and clementine zest coat the palate wonderfully, followed by rich molasses, orchard fruits and crystalised ginger and concluding with a rich finish of black cherries and raisin butter.
