Here we have an exceptionally old and refined Glenburgie, bottled by Douglas Laing as part of the ‘Xtra Old Particular’ series. Distilled in 1980 and matured for 40 long years in a single hogshead cask, with an outturn of only 233 bottles. This spirit has been able to retain its fresh and fruity character, whilst being incredibly rich and buttery on the nose, vibrant citrus peels and barley. Extremely mouth coating on the palate, loads of texture and rather moreish. Vanilla cream with a sweet malty character, ripe apricots, and shavings of chocolate. Long and creamy finish, caramel, and warming spice.
