Product Description

Region: Islay

Strength: 47.6%

Volume: 700ml

Situated on the southern shores of Islay lies the Laphroaig distillery, one of Scotland's most beloved and distinctive whiskies. One of the most pungent and peaty whiskies in its youth, this 25 year old single cask bottling from Cadenhead shows the more integrated and mellow smoky character. On first sniff, there is a note of rum and raisin ice cream, cherries and polished oak, before the peat comes through with notes of oily rags. The palate is again initially not blasting with peat, but instead sloe berries, apple brandy and honeycomb, before the smoke builds to burnt toffee, honeycomb and wet peaty flavours. An increasingly rare treat, an old Laphroaig, bottled by Cadenhead as part of their 175th Anniversary releases.
