Longmorn 'Old Particular' 1996 / 20 years old 51.5%
Product Description

Region: Speyside

Strength: 51.5%

Volume: 700ml

Situated in the very heart of Speyside in an area known as Fogwatt, the Longmorn distillery is one of the most important whiskies in the Chivas blend. Due to its use in blending, it is seldom seen as a single malt, with most bottlings coming from independent bottlers such as Douglas Laing. This 20 year old single-cask expression is very delicate and aromatic - notes of citrus zest, toffee apples and a spicy oak note. The flavour is rich with milk chocolate and caramel, contrasted with honeycomb and a nutty (bitter almond) taste. The finish remains fruity (like an old fruit salad) and lingers for a long time - a simply beautiful old Longmorn.

The Longmorn distillery in Speyside produced a complex, delicate and layered style of whisky, often with orange blossom honeysuckle, honey and home-baking notes that becomes citric and drying on the finish. A very long-lasting and complex whisky selected by Signatory Vintage from just two Hogshead casks and bottled and a natural strength of 52.7%.
