Macduff distillery in the Highlands, this single malt often shows a nutty and fruity character. The distillery uses quick mashing and very cold condensers to produce the nutty, slightly sulphury spirit, while an unusual kink in the spirit stills lyne arm gives just enough reflux to help add the fruity quality. Distilled in 2007 and matured for 14 years in a refill hogshead cask. Aromas of vanilla and peach on the nose, followed by a fresh floral note. The palate is grassy and sweet, stewed apples, gooey caramel and straw, all ending with lingering spice.
