Mortlach is an expression, which apart from the occasional independently bottled example, is not seen to often. It is however a real hidden gem, known for being robust, but creamy with a distinct nutty character. on the nose there is the characteristic note of toasted nuts, alongside mossy oak, warming sweet spice and raspberry preserve. On the palate, there are notes of apple cobbler, sun dried apricots and a creamy malty sweetness, followed by a finish of chocolate brownies and vanilla ice cream, with subtle nutmeg and cinnamon spice.
