Laid down in 1990 at what remains one of the shorttest-lived distilleries in Scotch history, this 33 year old single cask comes from Pittyvaich, operational from 1974 to 1993. Filled from an ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry cask, this Pittyvaich has naturally come down to 44.2%, showing a slow and steady evaporation in the temperate warehouses in Scotland. A distinctive woody and spicy character of a medley of exotic woods and fragrant spices joins a herbal honey quality. What can only be described as a 'dusty' note is a character of the distillery, with earthy dark chocolate and a distant, herbal smokyness of old coal chimneys.
