This bottling by Hunter Laing hails from the little-known Speyside distillery, situated in Kingussie at the very southern end of the Speyside region. Distilled in 1995 and matured for 25 long years in a single refill hogshead cask, bottled at 50% with an out-turn of 264 bottles. The nose has a light herbal character, freshly cut pine, mango, pineapple and vanilla caramels. The vanilla carries through to the palate, chewy toffee, boiled sweets, soft spices, pepper and liquorice. The finish keeps up with soft spices, toasted walnuts with milk chocolate.
