Selected from just a small number of mature stocks from the dunnage warehouses on site, this latest release of the Springbank 18 year old is now available. There is a great complexity to this whisky - the nose runs from lemon meringue pie, pear skin, olive oil, almonds and digestive biscuits, with a blast of Kintyre coastal brine lifting these aromas. To taste, the classic burst of tropical fruit and coconut, moving to butterscotch and treacle roundness with an edge of lime. The finish is quite gentle, with gingerbread and vanilla, liquorice and a wonderful mix of old wood and delicate spice, dusted with the meerest peat smoke.
