Hailing from one of the most famous Island distilleries of Scotland, the Isle of Skye, this 10 year old single malt was bottled from a refill hogshead. Its salty, smokey, peppery nature is absolutely typical of the distillate that sets Talisker apart. An unusual distillery in many respects, Talisker was triple distilled until 1928, and now uses an odd setup featuring two wash stills and three spirit, as well as worm tubs. The style produced is particularly spicy and salty. On the nose, this single cask expression displays salted caramel, sea salt, beach bonfires, on the palate malted barley, seaweed, charcoal, in the finish the signature spice note develops alongside a touch of citrus.
