This year one of our favourite tastings is back, our Fine & Fortified event: a journey through 5 whiskies that have been aged or finished in a fortified wine cask, alongside an example of each of the fortified wines.
This will be a fortifying evening, where we will discuss the magic of maturation and learn about the contribution that the cask's previous occupant makes on the whisky as it ages. We will also look to see how much flavour and character comes from the spirit, the wood and how much if any, actually comes from the wine itself.
