Here we have an old and complex single malt from Tobermory distillery, a wonderful cask selected and bottled by North Star. Distilled in 1995 and resting for 26 long years in a single refill hogshead, with an outturn of 238 bottles. The nose is filled with mineral notes, juicy pears, barley and sea salt spray. The palate is creamy, full of custard tarts, freshly picked mint from the garden, overripe pears and a pot of herbal tea. Long finish, salted caramel, vibrant menthol, almonds and crisp green apples. An exemplary single cask from North Star.
