Mannochmore 'The Mach' 11 years old 53.5%

Region Speyside
Strength 53.5%
Volume 700ml

Specially selected by our very own Michael Fraser Milne, this single cask bottling hails from Mannochmore, situated just south of Glen Elgin in the great Speyside region of Scotland. This is an earthy, citrusy and big - a real single malt drinkers dram.

NOSE:
A bit closed to start, but given a bit of time or water it opens with fresh orange peel, boiled sweets, peaches and rice pudding. A contrasting floral, earthy and herbal scent builds with a hint of Vicks Vapour rub.

PALATE:

A mouth-watering juicy and viscous palate, with orange juice and a touch of Fanta (blood orange).  Fruit driven and musty at first, it is very big - quince paste comes through with other fruit notes, and maybe a touch of hazelnut.

With water, the palate is slightly dry, a wee bit gingery with a nice bitter lemony note, apples and spicy/peppery. Tremendous on the palate and one for those who enjoy their malts big and needing a bit of time and attention.
