This expression, distilled at Tullibardine distillery in 2012, was aged for ten years and has been finished in Recioto della Valpolicella ( a sweet and intensely flavoured Italian red wine.) Hogshead casks.
The nose is heavy, initially very fruit forward, with notes of stewed plums and cranberry sauce. Cake like sweetness develops further on the nose.
The palate is deep, rich and sweet, this is a dram for those of us who love their desserts. Notes of rum and raisin ice cream are joined with hints of nuttiness and berry compote.
