Blended Whiskies

J&B Rare contains 42 different whiskies, carefully blended to create a subtle, smooth & complex flavour. The heart of J&B Rare is formed by Speyside malt whiskies. This blended expression from North Star draws from "a mix of distilleries" - the chosen whiskies were aged for ten years in two Sherry Butts. Light and desserty, with notes of peach melba and vanilla ice cream, paired with flat white coffee mousse. On the palate there are sweet notes of raspberry licorice, malted biscuits and hints of sweet spice. Sweet to the end with barley sugar sweets and syrupy hotcakes.  

Pigs Nose is an exceptionally fine five year old blended whisky, created by Richard Patterson, Scotlands only third generation master blender. The blend contains a high percentage (40%) of malt whiskies, principally from Speyside imbuing the product with their characteristic softness; the name comes from the farming expression soft as a pigs nose Described in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2006 as A big, sweet, chunky, gawky, grainlashed but hugely enjoyable blend."

The final chapter in North Star?s ?Supersonic? blended malt series, the Mach 1 is a blend of single malts entirely aged in sherry casks and bottled at 46%. The nose opens with Christmas cake with marzipan icing and a thick brandy sauce. On the tongue it explodes into tart dried fruit, barley sugars and fresh nutmeg, leaving behind a warming, lingering spice.

A classic Scottish blend, Teacher's Highland Cream is, as the name suggests, a well-rounded smooth whisky. With notes of malt and toffee, as well as fruits, this is an easy drinking whisky, made from some of Scotland's most famous whiskies including GlenDronach and Ardmore.

This blended malt has been carefully put together by Douglas Laing & Co solely from whisky from the Highlands, including the Blair Athol, Glen Garioch, Dalmore and Glengoyne distilleries. Sweet and floral on the nose, it has sweeter and spicier tones on the palate with a raisiny sweet fudge flavour.
