Pulteney 'Signatory' 2008 / 16 years old 56.1%

Older, independently bottled expressions from Old Pulteney are a rare sight, with this new Signatory bottling coming from a single sherry butt. There is a facinating tart / sour fruit quality to this dram, with notes of wine poached pear, cranberries and plums. A note of marzipan candy (ground almond) comes through, building to raisins and plenty of tangy salted caramel and spice to finish.
