Benrinnes

Specially selected by the team at Whisky Galore, this single cask bottling hails from the Benrinnes distillery, situated at the foot of mountain Ben Rinnes. Matured in a single ex-American oak standard barrel, it was chosen for its distinctive zesty, zingy flavours.

Nose: Fresh scrumpy apples lead the aroma, with, a hint of eucalyptus, moving to  spicier clove, cardamon and poached-pear liquor.

Palate: A fizzy burst of sherbet flavours up front, with a slightly salty liquorice and limoncello following. A taste of white chocolate drizzled on pastries, Parma ham and honey-dew melon lingers with wine poached ripe pears in the background.

This heavy-fitting 12 year old Benrinnes shows what Adelphi do best - selecting whiskies at the very peak of their maturation. This sherry-bomb comes from a first-fill ex-Oloroso sherry hogshead.

Colour: Dark amber.

Nose: Chocolate cherry, red cola cubes, red currant, Gammel Dansk, sloe berry, bitter marmalade, salted pork, sweet vermouth, Peychaud’s bitters, Kummel, herbaceous hickory. 

Palate: Dark chocolate eclairs, Black Forest gateau, Riesens (chocolate covered caramel), forest moss, pipe tobacco, pecan pie.

Finish: Well-balanced, rich, drying, round, lengthy finish.
