Dalmore

Colour rich, deep, golden mahogany. Nose intense and firm. Well structured with silky smooth malty tones - a hint of Oloroso sherry lingers in the background. It shows great finesse, extolling frangrances of orange, marmalade and spice notes. Taste, good attack on the mouth, more elegance than muscle. The aged Oloroso butts smooth its rich, fleshy body with great harmony. Almost a concentrated citric mouth-feel captivates and tantalises the middle part of your tongue. An aftertaste of great abundance rewards the palate. A Highland malt of great distinction.

The Dalmore distillery is situated just north of Inverness, and this expression is the traditional example of the style made at Dalmore. This single malt whisky is rich and full of spices from 15 years of maturation in a combination of 3 different sherry casks, with a flavour of dried fruit, orange marmalade and Christmas spices throughout. A smooth, rounded and mellow Highland dram.

The Dalmore 18 year old has been matured in ex-American white oak casks for 14 years, before being finished in 30 year old Matusalem olorosso sherry casks for its final 4 years. Rich and spicy, releasing waves of vanilla, milk chocolate, marmalade and stewed fruits with a long toffeed finish.

A mixture of cask types and ages make up this extraordinary Dalmore. A feast of aromas ranging from red fruits, sherry, chocolate, citrus and spices, along with vanilla and nuts. A perfect end-of-the night dram, created in honour of the Mackenzie clansman who with a deft shot from a bow saved King Alexander III from a fatal charge by a 12 pointed stag.

This release from Dalmore distillery has been maturing in American white oak ex-bourbon casks and then aged Tawny Port pipes. Notes of red berries, oranges and sticky toffee pudding are found on the nose. These notes develop in to full bodied notes of nectarines, caramel, roasted chestnuts and Java coffee on the palate. to finish rich plums, sultanas, blood oranges and macerated cherries are found on the finish.
