Kilkerran 16 years old 46%

This latest release of Glengyle's 16 year old Kilkerran is made from a combination of casks, featuring a profile of 60% ex-bourbon barrels and 40% ex-sherry casks, the latter of which has played a big role in the flavours of this whisky. The opening is rich with prunes and orange-infused chocolate, joining marzipan and lashings of maraschino cherry syrup. The palate is complex, earthy and maritime - salty liquorice, gentle peat smoke and dates. To finish, cinnamon spice and sea salt, lingering on more cherries and hazelnuts.
