GlenAllachie's latest cask strength release is now available, bringing their signature intensity of sherry cask maturation without dilution. The aroma is big and heavy, with layers of dried fruit, treacle and fig syrup, with a heart of butterscotch and heathery honey. With a flavour that could be described as 'liquid Black Forest gateau', this is a dram of density and power, with ginger and plenty of intense oak-driven spice to linger on.

Bursting with the richness and heavy, fruity quality of exquisite sherry casks, the latest GlenAllachie cask strength series has arrived on the shelves. Like a bowl of boozy dried fruits soaked in whisky, the aroma is a powerful and dense to start, opening with a softer quality of heather honey, orchard fruit and gingersnaps. The flavour of bittersweet dark chocolate and demerara sugar builds on the palate, with toffee, spices and tangy plum remaining for a long time in the finish.

Chosen from casks that were laid down in 2012, this brand new 'Cuvee' expression sees GlenAllachie's whisky given a secondary maturation in hand-chosen French and Italian wine casks. The disitllery's spirit, with heather honeyed tones is joined by pastel fruits and red berries, hints of ginger and caramel biscuits. A burst of orchard fruit and citrus can be found, with plum syrup and more berries in the finish.

A new addition to the 'Discovery' range from Gordon & MacPhail, this expression comes entirely from American oak casks from the GlenAllachie distillery in Speyside, Scotland. This wood profile is typified by creamy custard, fruity notes of apple and banana, and a flavour of blossom honey. A great example of this traditional style, and a distillery that is very rarely seen independently bottled like this.

One of the world?s first single malts finished in Hungarian virgin oak (Quercus Petraea), this new GlenAllachie was originally matured in common American oak, then a final period maturing in charred & toasted staves of this rare Hungarian wood. Bursting with butterscotch, citrus and milk chocolate, with cinnamon, raisins, orchard fruits and ginger, there is also an aromatic and resinous woody character throughout. Facinating stuff from Billy Walker and his team.

This Glenallachie from north star is an absolute sherry bomb. Bottled from a single Oloroso butt, the nose is full of rich oak and big sherry notes. The big sherry tones continue through the palate, joined with a malty sweetness, the finish is long, punchy and powerful, notes of stewed fruits linger on and on?

This release from GlenAllachie's 'Virgin Oak Series' was initially matured in ex-American oak (Quercus Alba) casks before spending approximately 18 months in Chinquapin (Quercus Muehlenbergii) oak casks, specially selected from the Northern Ozark region in Missouri. The nose bursts with aromas of orange zest, heather honey and pecan, with butterscotch and nutmeg following. To taste, lashings of cinnamon, barley sugar and toasted biscuits, followed by rose hips, orange peel and heather honey.

This release from GlenAllachie's 'Virgin Oak Series' was initially matured in ex-American oak (Quercus Alba) casks before spending approximately 18 months in French (Quercus Robur) oak casks, specially selected from the Haute-Garonne region close to the Pyrenees. The aroma offers a signature heather honey and waves of orange peel, followed by caramel and orchard fruits with mocha lingering. On the palate, GlenAllachie describe a flavours of heather honey again, with more mocha, brittle toffee and grapefruit. An earthy tannic feel joins ginger and cinnamon on the finish.

This is a rare example of a single malt which underwent additional maturation in casks made of Scottish Sessile Oak (Quercus Petrae), sourced from the Atlantic coast. Bursting with baked oats, butterscotch and toffee, with notes of cinnamon, gingersnaps and heather honey. The wood's most distinctive flavour is a taste of blonde chocolate, with hints of zesty orange.

From Batch 3 of GlenAllachie's 'Virgin Oak' series, this new whisky obtains its spicy, treacly flavours from a final maturation in hogsheads made of Spanish Oak (Quercus Robur). Flavours of orchard fruits, baking spices and sticky toffee pudding can be found, with notes of brown sugar, glazed cherries and citrus.

This 12 year old represents the classic style of GlenAllachie - a rich medley of flavours from careful cask selection and distillation. A layered aroma of honey, butterscotch and sticky raisin is joined by a notable cinnamon, mocha spicyness. To taste, a burst of orange zest cuts through the honey and rich dried fruit of fig and date, rounded by a dark chocolate bitterness to finish.

The 15 year old expression from the GlenAllachie distillery has an incrediblly dark colour to it, reflecting a heavy wood influence from active ex-sherry casks. The aroma is deeply fruity and spicy, with a rich and dominant notes of raisin, black bun and traditional fruit dumpling, covered in butterscotch sauce. Aromatic sweet spices found on the nose carry on to the palate, developing into a lighter note of orange and banana, then fading to bittersweet dark chocolate.

Created from small batches of casks matured for 18 years, the GlenAllachie 18 has a rich and complex wood-driven flavour, with toffee, brown muscovado sugar and dark chocolate taking the lead. The distillery's heart of heather honey remains, with layers of fruitcake, nutty tones and spices galore from the oak. An exceptional offering from one of the greats of Speyside.

Produced from just a handful of some of their oldest casks, this is batch #3 of GlenAllachie's legendary 30 year old expression. Bottled at a natural cask strength, it is a richly concentrated whisky with flavours of roasted almonds, honey and orchard fruits, with hints of worn leather and butterscotch, followed by orange zest and dark chocolate. To taste, lashings of grape must, hazelnut and honeycomb, followed by citrus fruits, toffee brittle and hints of ginger spice, with cinnamon and mocha on the very long-lasting finish.

GlenAllachie's newest addition to their core range is the 8 year old - matured in a combination of primarily ex-sherry wood, with a smattering of virgin oak and ex-wine barriques. Created by Master Blender Billy Walker, this has aromas of of heather honey, butterscotch and cinnamon, followed by waves of ginger, toasted almonds and mocha. To taste, lashings of treacle, dried sultanas and butterscotch, with cinnamon, peppermint and honeycomb.
