Inspired by autumnal leaves and cooling evenings, this seasonal release from the Lochlea farm distillery, sees ex-sherry casks married together to produce a whisky with rich flavours of manuka honey, golden syrup and plenty of dried fruit. A bitter-sweet quality of freshly ground coffee and ginger candies joins zested orange and nuts.
From the brand new Lindores Distillery, the historical home of Scotch whisky, comes this limited bottling from their ’The Casks of Lindores’ series. Bottled entirely from ex-bourbon casks, this fresh, summery dram opens with juicy orchard fruits, creamy butterscotch, vanilla and a touch of citrus on the nose. Fresh apples turned into baked apple pie on the palate, with tart marmalade and soft hints of oak and peppery spice. Spritely and silky, this is the perfect Lowland sipper.
The 15 year old expression from the GlenAllachie distillery has an incrediblly dark colour to it, reflecting a heavy wood influence from active ex-sherry casks. The aroma is deeply fruity and spicy, with a rich and dominant notes of raisin, black bun and traditional fruit dumpling, covered in butterscotch sauce. Aromatic sweet spices found on the nose carry on to the palate, developing into a lighter note of orange and banana, then fading to bittersweet dark chocolate.
An exciting new limited edition release from the Ardnamurchan distillery sees their peated and unpeated whisky matured in a medley of ex-sherry casks. The reddish, mahogany colour shows the woods influence, offering up both sweet and savoury tones with flavours of salted peanut brittle, sticky spare ribs and rich raisin slice. A complex and gentle coastal peat smoke pokes through at times, with notes reminiscent of old fireplaces and sea-side tarry rope.
We are proud to launch the first ever whisky from the Isle of Harris Distillery, the long-awaited The Hearach. The aroma evokes a curing smokehouse, joined by fragrant hillside heather and smoky dried prunes. A creamy sweetness, like that of creme brulee, joins crisp apple fruity tones, with a lingering sea-salt tang left on the lips. The subtle smoke returns in the finish, a beautiful whiff of a peaty fireplace slowly burning down.A remarkable achievement for all on the island, this whisky is a testament to the hard work of everyone involved and we are delighted to finally share it with New Zealand. Please note: we are not currently able to ship this whisky outside of New Zealand.
The new Elements of Islay 'Cask Edit' is a celebration of all things Islay, containing a small number of single malts that have been 'edited' (blended) to knit together the character of the island's famous distilleries. Rich, smoky single malt from Islay’s south coast marries together with a fresher, fruitier style from the north, leaving behind a warming peat smoke flavour - a bonfire in a glass.
Benromach Distillery have added a 21 year old expression to their core range. Matured exclusively in first-fill oak casks this dram delivers sweet sherry aromas with notes of citrus and ginger and the Benromach signature hint of smoke. It is sweet to taste with spicy notes of cracked black pepper leading to Seville oranges, flavours of raspberry and baked apples finishing with a soft smokiness.
