Adelphi 'Breath of Speyside' 2009 / 15 years old 58.1%

A dark, brooding dram from an undisclosed distillery in Speyside, with a skunky, old-school vibe full of dark chocolate, raisin and walnut flavours. Opening with an old-fashioned rum style, it is distinctly savoury to start - with ox-tail soup, tangy tomato and maple bacon joining plenty of chocolatey notes. Black cherries and a character of imperial porter lingers with Brazil nuts and Kirsch soaked chocolate cake.
