Adelphi 'The Cargill' Fusion Whisky 57.4%
A unique fusion of Scottish and New Zealand single malt whiskies, this new Adelphi is a first of its kind, combining the distilleries of Ardnamurchan in Scotland and Cardrona from New Zealand. Named after Captain William Cargill, the Scot who led migrants from Scotland to found our very own Dunedin .
A decadent opening of chocolate gateau and salted caramel is layered with savoury notes of soft cheese to a touch of turmeric and humidor mustiness. The palate offers a contrast of sweet and savoury: light meringue and tart cherry mix with coastal salinity, earthy spice, and the tingling heat of Szechuan peppercorn. Notes of Angostura bitters and vermouth introduce a herbaceous edge, rounded off by a smoky hint of Korean BBQ ribs. The finish is rich, and complex, echoing the full spectrum of flavours with enduring warmth and layered character.
