Akkeshi 'Adelphi' 2018 / 3 years old 57.7%

Distilled in 2018 at Akkeshi on the far reaches of Hokkaido, this Japanese single malt was inspired by the heavily peated whiskies on Southern Islay. Sweet and briny, this is a very saline and coastal dram, with salty sea air, salted cured meats and an ashy character. Fruity tones of lychee, orange oil give the whisky a crisp and clean edge, contrasting the deep, oceanic heart of this whisky.
