Distilled in 1950 at the Glen Grant distillery in Speyside, this 60 year old whisky was produced by Gordon & MacPhail, Scotland's foremost experts in selecting and bottling rare and incredibly old whiskies. Bearing the original label design for Glen Grant's whiskies at the time, this bottle is a time capsule of an era of production in Scotland long passed, and is among some of the oldest whiskies ever bottled.

Distilled in 1965 for a truly staggering 54 long years, this Glen Grant was matured in a single refill sherry butt. The nose is sweet and festive, mixed spices, rich sherry influence, juicy clementine, autumn fruits, toasted almonds and menthol. Mouth warming palate, fresh ginger with stewed plums. Rich morello cherries, all surrounded by traces of charred oak. The finish is long and lingering with notes of aniseed. A rare gem from the depths of G&M's remarkable archives of old casks from the 1960's.

Celebrating The Legacy of 'Mr George', as he was fondly known by those who knew him best, was Mr George Urquhart, second generation of the family that owns Gordon & MacPhail. This is the first release of a series named for Mr. George, selected from a single ex-sherry cask laid down from the Glen Grant distillery in 1953. As one of the oldest whiskies ever bottled, it sits at an astonishing 67 years old, a yield of just 355 bottles were produced.

Produced at the oldest distillery in the village of Rothes in Speyside, this Glen Grant was carries a signature fresh, vibrant and fruity character - honeyed, green fruit and wood spices abound. The palate has a luxurious sweetness and mouth-filling oilyness that elegantly fades away with more fruity and a very mild oak woodiness in the finish.
